Company reviews
Every job in the job log shows the company's star rating when the community has rated it. Click it for the Company tab: overall rating, would-recommend, CEO approval, six sub-ratings, top pros and cons, and the reviews themselves. Reviews are anonymous and can only be written about employers on your résumé.
Rating chips, sort and filter
The ★ chip sits in the actions column of each table row and in the status row of each swimlane card. Click the ★ column header to sort by rating (unrated companies sink to the bottom), or use the Any rating filter: 4★+, 3★+, Has reviews, Not rated.
The Company tab
- Summary — overall rating, % who'd recommend, CEO approval, work-life balance, pay & benefits, culture, management, growth and diversity, and the current / former split.
- Reviews — headline, pros, cons and advice, with department, level and work arrangement. Sort by newest, most helpful, highest or lowest; filter by current / former, department and onsite / hybrid / remote. Mark reviews Helpful or Report them.
- Write a review appears only for companies on your résumé. For any other company you see Worked here?, which explains how to add it.
Who can review
Only employers in your résumé work history (the Work experience entries in your Workday profile, plus your current company) can be reviewed. When you submit, jobwhat sends a small attestation — current or former, start and end month, tenure bucket and a one-way hash of the stint — never your résumé itself. Reviews of a company that isn't on your résumé are refused.
If an employer later disappears from your résumé, your review stops counting after 30 days unless you add it back. My companies lists these under "No longer on your résumé".
My companies
My companies (top of the log, or tracker.html#companies) lists the employers on your résumé with their rating and your review status: Not reviewed, Publishing in ~N days, Published ✓ or Pending. Type a name in Company missing? to check it; if it isn't on your résumé you get buttons to add it to your work history or upload an updated résumé.
Publishing, thresholds, Free and Pro
- Reviews by current employees publish after a random 3–14 days, former employees after 0–3 days, so a review can't be matched to you by timing. New installs and bursts of reviews are held a little longer.
- Aggregates appear once 3 people have rated a company; review text once 5 have.
- Names, emails, phone numbers and links are removed from review text.
- Give to get: on Free you read two reviews per company. Write one review and every company's reviews unlock for 12 months. Pro unlocks everything. The free trial counts as Free here.
On job pages
On LinkedIn and Indeed job pages, the JobWhat community card under the jobwhat chips shows the company's stars, review count and % recommend; expand it for the sub-ratings and a top pro and con. Worked here? Review appears only when the company is on your résumé. Turn it off with Company ratings on job pages in Settings.
Privacy
- Stored without your name, email or employer account. Your install id is hashed; it's used only to let you edit your own review, count helpful votes once and rate-limit.
- Job title and exact dates stay on your computer; only the tenure bucket and a hash are sent.
- Turn off Show company ratings in Settings and the chips, Company tab, rating sort / filter and My companies disappear and nothing is fetched.
