Introduction
What jobwhat is, what it does, and what it doesn't.
jobwhat is a Chrome extension (Manifest V3) that fills out job applications from a profile you set up once, keeps a log of every job you've applied to, viewed or hidden, and colours your LinkedIn results so you never open the same posting twice. It's built by one person and sold as a subscription — there's no team, no roadmap call, no dashboard beyond what's in these pages.

What it does

What it doesn't do
- It doesn't submit a Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever or Workday form for you when you press Autofill. Autofill fills the form and flags what it left; you press Submit. Only jobs you deliberately add to the apply queue get submitted automatically.
- It doesn't fill LinkedIn's own Easy Apply forms.
- It doesn't write your resume, rewrite your answers, or coach you through interviews. No job board of its own, no resume rewriter — just the parts of applying that are pure repetition.
- It doesn't geocode your address through a third-party API. Address help comes from Chrome's own autofill and a small shipped lookup table — see Your profile.
Where things live
Everything the extension knows about you — profile, resume, cover letter, job log, settings — lives in the extension's own storage, inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded by default. Three things leave the browser at all:
- The Pro subscription check — the email you paid with, asked against Stripe.
- A one-way hash of your LinkedIn member id, sent once, so the free trial can't be restarted by reinstalling.
- AI answers, only if you turn that setting on — see AI answers for exactly what's sent.
Getting started
- Install the extension — unpacked for now, the Chrome Web Store once it's listed.
- Set up your profile — a four-step onboarding flow parses your resume and asks the rest.
- If you use Workday, fill in the extra wizard answers it needs.
- Go apply. Autofill on any Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever or Workday form, or queue jobs from LinkedIn and let the queue do it.
